Kim Woo Bin, with fellow actor Yoo Oh Sung and director Kwak Kyung Taek, attended the “Friend 2” press preview at the Lotte Cinema in Gwangjin-gu on November 4.
Kim Woo Bin was asked how it was to do all the rough action scenes in the movie, to which he replied, “I played a lot of rebelling roles in the past, so I freely expressed everything that I was never able to previously. Of my roles thus far, I wonder if this wasn’t the best yet. I had a lot of fun while shooting.”
The first “Friend” film from 2001, regardless of its 18+ viewing restrictions, pulled in 8,.2 million viewers countrywide, and started a ‘friend syndrome.’ Resurrected after 12 years, the sequel “Friend 2” is set in the 1963 generation as well as the current generation. The movie tells the story of three gangsters.
Kwak Kyung Taek, the director from the first “Friend” movie, also took charge of directing the sequel. Yoo Oh Sung acted the role of Jun Seok, whose charismatic father Lee Chul Joo will be played by Joo Jin Mo. Kim Woo Bin took on Sung Hoon, the hidden son of Dong Su, who had been portrayed in “Friend” by Jang Dong Gun.
“Friend 2” is set to premiere on November 14. Until then, you can watch Kim Woo Bin in “The Heirs,” airing on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
