After receiving wide media and public attention for Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wook’s on-screen reunion, the first script reading for “Hotel King” took place, marking the kick-off for this upcoming MBC drama.
The script reading took place last week, where all of the cast members and staff gathered for the first time. Director Kim Dae Jin, writer Jo Eun Jung, the leads Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wook, as well as other supporting cast members like Lee Duk Hwa and Kim Hae Sook attended.
Lee Dong Wook commented, “Instead of saying that I’ll work hard, I’ll try to do my best.” Lee Da Hae remarked, “I don’t usually get nervous but coming here is making me nervous. But because of the strong senior actors, I think I’ll be able to film with a secure heart.”
Meeting again after eight years since “My Girl,” Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wook was said to show superb chemsitry once more. Lee Dong Wook perfectly portrayed the cold general manager Cha Jae Wan while Lee Da Hae filled with room with laughter through her bright and energetic acting.
The two leads were said to have continuously talked with each other and the staff members about the drama, showing their passion for the project.
2AM‘s Seulong also got in sync with his outgoing Seon Woo Hyun character while Wang Ji Hye perfectly executed her announcer character Song Chae Kyung. Other cast members include VIXX‘s N and Jewelry‘s Yewon.
It is said that there were two script reading sessions for “Hotel King,” which isn’t very common. Also, many of the actors and staff are receiving hotelier service training in order better portray their characters in the drama.
“Hotel King” is set to air on March 30.
