Singer-songwriter Yoon Jong Shin has been releasing a “repaired” song or two every month as part of his monthly “Repair Series“, including “The Day Long Ago” in December with Lee Juck and “You Are Still Awesome” in November with Rumble Fish’s Kim Yoon Ah. His monthly releases have culminated in “Monthly Project 2013 Yoon Jong Shin,” a 2-CD album consisting of songs that he has participated in over the years.
His last release for 2013 is the title song of the album, “From January to June,” originally released in 2011. Yoon Jong Shin had featured as a guest vocalist for musical duo 015B. The sad love ballad has aged very nicely, and Yoon Jong Shin’s gentle vocals age add a nostalgic touch to the song.
Some of the songs on his “Monthly Project 2013″ may be widely known, but lack a certain completeness on further listening, while other songs are of good quality but less well known. Yoon Jong Shin has “repaired” and reworked each of these songs, re-recording them according to their new arrangements.
This year’s “Monthly Project 2013” series features guest artists Sung Shi Kyung, Kim Yeon Woo, Kim Bum Soo, Yangpa, Kingston Rudieska, J Rabbit, Park Ji Yoon, A.T, Sweet Sorrow, Kim Yoon Ah and Lee Juck.
Yoon Jong Shin has been refining his life’s work, steadily releasing tracks that soothe one’s ears. He plans to continue the monthly series next year as well.
“Monthly Project 2013” was released on December 20.
