According to YG Entertainment on December 2, YG is partnering with Yonsei University Medical School’s Severance Hospital and hosting a “Dream Gift” campaign in support of patients with heart disease. They will be sponsoring patients through the public campaign, WITH.
This campaign began through YG’s meeting with Prof. Ha Jong Won of the Severance Cardiovascular Hospital. Prof. Ha Jong Won achieved his long-time dream of producing an album titled “Once in a Lifetime” through receiving the help of YG staff members. The people who received the album as a gift collected 50 million won (approximately $47,200) within a three-month period for the goal of sponsoring heart disease patients.
After the CEO of YG Yang Hyun Suk heard this news, he decided to donate 100 million won (approximately $9500) of his own money with the goal of spreading hope to children who are suffering from heart diseases. His decision led to the Dream Gift campaign.
In commemoration of the start of the campaign, a sponsor night was held at the Yonsei University Alumni Hall on November 29 with performances from Epik High and Akdong Musician.
The Dream Gift campaign plans to support heart disease patients and their families who are suffering financially and emotionally. The campaign will accept donations from the general public, and it is expected to spread hope to many patients
