Empress Ki” continued to maintain strong ratings this week.

Nielsen Korea report stated that MBC Monday-Tuesday drama “Empress Ki” scored a nationwide rating of 18.8% for its December 17 broadcast. That figure is the same as its previous episode rating on December 16.

While “Empress Ki” remains unrivalled in its number one position, there has been a slight drop from 20.2% and 19.5% ratings for last week’s Monday and Tuesday episodes, respectively.

This Tuesday’s episode of “Empress Ki” saw Ta Hwan (Ji Chang Wook) and Ki Seung Nyang (Ha Ji Won) sharing a drink together. Ta Hwan confessed, “We should have done this sooner.”

The pair showed a different behavior from their normal selves after a couple of drinks. Ta Hwan told Seung Nyang that she looked cuter when drunk. “Open up,” he said, feeding her some snacks. Seung Nyang went along with his bantering, even while her eyes were getting heavy.

Ki Seung Nyang ended up falling asleep, and Ta Hwan moved her onto his bed. He had wanted to give her a kiss when she was sleeping, but decided that he “didn’t want to do something cowardly,” showing his consideration for her.

KBS 2TV’s “Prime Minister and I” had a rating of 6.5%, down from its Monday second-place rating of 7.3%. This is still an increase from last week’s Monday, Tuesday ratings of 5.9% and 5.4%. This week, Nam Da Jung (YoonA) and Prime Minister Kwon Yul (Lee Bum Soo) held their wedding ceremony, so we’ll probably be getting more interaction between Da Jung and Kwon Yul, as well as Da Jung and the kids soon.

"Prime Minister and I"

SBS “Kind Words” saw a rating of 8.5%, up from its previous day rating of 6.8%, reclaiming the second spot from “Prime Minister and I.” This ratings pattern was seen last week as well as its Monday and Tuesday ratings were 7.8% and 8.3%, respectively. It looks like the race for number two, at least, is heating up!
