Returning to the acting scene, T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun) of BIGBANG shows off a breathtaking display of visuals with this new pictorial.
T.O.P’s agency, YG Entertainment, revealed that he had completed shooting for a magazine pictorial and released these accompanying teaser pictures. T.O.P’s intense eyes depict a certain sadness, and the pictures create a lonely atmosphere, all the better to capture the hearts of females.
In the pictorial, T.O.P perfectly distills the essence of his character Lee Myung Hoon in “The Alumni,” the youth of ill fate, capturing it with restrained emotion.
T.O.P explained why he picked “The Alumni” in the interview he had with the magazine, “The character and the type of movie, I was drawn to the character because it seemed like I could just really just act him out.”
He also revealed his attitude towards acting, stating, “I really liked Robert De Niro’s acting in the movie ‘Taxi Driver.’ Rather than big direct expressions, his acting was distinct and sensitive and I really liked that. Thus, I also tried to change so that I could show more restrained acting rather than excessive acting.” We get a glimpse of the real unadorned actor T.O.P, who seems to have deep thoughts and troubles.
T.O.P attended the Busan International Film Festival on October 5, taking home the rookie award at the “Asia Star Awards” and receiving recognition for his work as an actor. All this has no doubt increased expectations for his movie.
“The Alumni” is a movie about the sad destiny of a youth who has to become a North Korean spy in order to save his only family, his sister (Kim Yoo Jung). It opens in Korean theatres on November 6.
