2NE1‘s first studio album in four years, “CRUSH,” has finally hit the offline stores.
After releasing the album online on February 26, the tracks shot to the top of the charts and have been performing well since. However, fans have been waiting the possibility to hold an actual album in their hands, and that chance was finally granted on March 7.
“CRUSH” comes in two editions; pink and black. While the tracklists are the same, the photos on the album booklets are different, and both editions highlight the diverse and unique charms of 2NE1. Including the title tracks “Come Back Home” and “Gotta Be You,” the album contains ten polished tracks in total.
Being only the second studio album of the popular girl group, the whole team has paid extra attention to the quality of music and style. Crossing borders of genres by mixing hip hop, R&B, and reggae, the songs are just as exciting as expected from 2NE1. This time around, leader CL has personally written the lyrics for four songs, and has also participated in producing some of the tracks.
The response so far has been extremely positive, and the girls recorded an all-kill right after releasing the album online. They also ranked high on “Billboard Top 200,” breaking the record for the highest position achieved by a K-pop artist. Overall, their overseas popularity has been felt once again as “CRUSH” has performed well on iTunes charts worldwide.
2NE1 will perform their comeback stage on SBS’ “Inkigayo” on March 9, and will continue their world tour “All or Nothing” with a stop in Hong Kong stop on March 22.
